Queen's Jubilee Celebrations in Macclesfield - Picnic's, Proms and more!

Join the Macclesfield Jubilee party on Sunday 3rd June,  there are two Big Lunch parties in the town centre and everyone’s invited!

The Big Lunch events will be held in Marketplace and Park Green between midday and 3.00pm.  The format is to bring your own picnic, ( and tables & chairs if you have them) with your family and friends to join in on really memorable social occasion.

Macclesfield Youth Brass Band will play in Market Place and The Town Hall will be open for anyone wishing to see the recent restoration work.

At Park Green, the party,  organised by members of The United Reformed Church and The Trustees of The Silk Museum will take place on Park Lane outside The  Museum.

High spirits and entertainment guaranteed at both events.  To add to the colour of the occasion guests are invited to dress regally or in the fashion of the era of The Queens Reign. Prizes will be awarded to the best table decoration by the Mayor of Macclesfield.

The celebrations will then move to Macclesfield Town Football Ground for The Proms on The Pitch on Sunday 3rd June.  A great family fay out with live music, kids activities and much much more!  Gates open at 4pm to book your tickets go to www.promsonthepitch.net

On Monday Her Majesty The Queen will light the first Beacon in London at 10.30pm this will be the signal for some 2000 others to be lit throughout The United Kingdom and The Commonwealth.

Macclesfield Scouts will light a Jubilee Beacon in South Park at 10.30pm.

To mark HRH The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Alsager Partnership and other groups

across the town are holding a Festival Weekend packed with fun and creativity.

There will be craft workshops, concerts, exhibitions,

an all-age poetry competition, Jubilee lunch and an opportunity to experience local

talent. We aim to offer something for everyone, to celebrate the Jubilee and provide

a platform for creative talent in our town.

This brochure provides details of all the events planned for the Jubilee weekend.

We hope you find them of interest and enjoy the creative skills that flourish in

our community.

If you're considering an Apprenticeship as a route into a new industry, or seeking job opportunities, come along to chat to over 25 local businesses about the options available - there are currently over 50 Apprenticeship vacancies waiting to be filled by candidates just like you!

This free event is supported by David Rutley MP and key local employers, including Barclays, Cheshire East Council, Kids Allowed, Plus Dane Group and many more.

There'll also be CV writing workshops, tips from industry experts and advice on training options. The Fair is open to all, whether you're 16-18 and looking to move on from school/sixth form/college, or you're considering an alternative to university, or you're an adult looking to kick-start a new career. You do not have to be a Macclesfield College student to attend - all are welcome.
