Congleton Market – Traditional Market shopping at its best !
Congleton Market has been serving the needs of the people of Congleton and the surrounding areas since 1272. That’s right, over 700 years of service to the local population. Isn’t that amazing?
In recent years the market has been managed by Citymarkets, a specialist market management company, and 2011 marks the company’s eleventh year in Congleton.
The market is situated in the centre of Congleton at the Bridestones Centre, next door to Morrison’s Supermarket.
The market features a large collection of, mostly local, independent retailers selling an extensive range of goods, including a wide selection of fresh foods, household items, clothing and footwear, household textiles, giftware, and hardware — in fact, everything you might require for your from day to day needs.
The retail market is open every Tuesday and Saturday from 9.00am until 4.00pm and a large and busy car boot sale is held every Sunday throughout the year between 7.00am and 1.00pm, with car booters queuing to set up every Sunday morning. The market also has a car boot section open every Tuesday and Saturday.
The next twelve months will prove an exiting time for both Congleton Market customers and traders. As part of the planned redevelopment of the town centre, the market will be relocated to the Fairground site during the redevelopment phase, and then to a new purpose built state-of-the-art market facility within the new redeveloped town centre.
